PA Farm Show & Links I Love

Butter sculpture.  Need I say more?  Hubby and I made a special trip to the Pennsylvania Farm Show this weekend.  And it wasn’t just a special trip because of the butter sculpture.  It was special because attending the farm show marked a sort of anniversary for us.  We’ve lived in central PA long enough to attend the same annual events again and again.  You can read about our first visit to the PA Farm Show last year here.  Then, take a look at a few highlights from 2011.

Seriously, they have a butter sculpture. You can't make this stuff up, people.

Cattle contest. Later in the week, they have tractor races in this areana.

Is that longhorn smiling at me?
Hmm…bacon.
We caught the end of judging for the six-horse wagon pulls (I think that’s what it’s called.) This was the first time I’d ever seen anything like this. The horses are so graceful pulling in unison. And, they’re decorated with bells and bows. It’s really something to see.

Doing a little tractor browsing. Hubby and I have been researching tractors for our little house in the country. We'll likely purchase our first tractor used--maybe as soon as this spring.

This tractor costs more than our house. How do farmers do it?

So all this talk about the PA Farm show is an excellent introduction to the next couple of links I love I want to share with you all about farming and gardening. But, you’ll have to check back tomorrow to see what they are.  Until then, I hope you all have a wonderful week ahead.
